Nation Wide Tea Party Photographs - I contend that for a nation to try to tax itself into prosperity is like a man standing in a bucket and trying to lift himself up by the handle.

Recently, a reader send me the following article via e-mail.
(Please note: There was no actual source for this column listed, and I attempted every way to discover who the author was in order to give credit.. Alas - no luck! Since no copyright was included, nor any blurbs about written permission to re-print, I decided to go ahead anyhow and post it.)
I feel this article is important enough to print, as well as very timely - with the most important election cycle coming up that our nation has ever faced. Elections that could save our country from the socialist goals of the current leadership. Elections that could guide us back to the beliefs, ideals, strengths, and wishes of the Founding Fathers.
Here's the article:
IS EVERYTHING BUSH'S FAULT?
The day the Democrats took over was not January 22, 2009. It was actually January 3, 2007. The day the Democrats took over the House of Representatives and the Senate - the start of the 110th Congress. The Democratic Party controlled the majority in both chambers for the first time since the end of the 103rd Congress in 1995.
For those who are listening to the liberals propagating the fallacy that everything is "Bush's Fault," think about this:
January 3, 2007 was the day the Democrats took over the Senate and the Congress. At that time:
- The GDP for the previous quarter was: 3.5%
- The unemployment rate was 4.6%
- George Bush's economic policies set a record - 52 straight months of job creation!
Remember the day:
- January 3, 2007 was the day that Barney Frank took over the House Financial Services Committee and Chris Dodd took over the Senate Banking Committee
- The economic meltdown that happened 15 months later was in what part of the economy? BANKING and FINANCIAL SERVICES!
Thank Congress for taking us from a 13,000 DOW, 3.5 GDP, and 4.6% Unemployment to this CRISIS by dumping 5 to 6 TRILLION dollars of toxic loans on the economy from YOUR Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac fiascos! (By the way, Bush asked Congress 17 times to stop Fannie & Freddi - starting in 2001 - because it was financially risky for the United States economy, but no one was listening.)
And who took the THIRD highest pay-off from Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac?
- Obama and the Democratic Congress
So when someone tries to blame Bush... REMEMBER JANUARY 3rd, 2007 - THE DAY THE DEMOCRATS TOOK OVER! Bush may have been in the car, but the Democrats were in charge of the gas pedal and steering wheel they were driving. Set the record straight on Bush (and this is NOT to say that Bush did everything right!).
So as you listen to all the commercials and media from the Democrats who are now distancing themselves from their own voting records and their party (as well as Obama), remember how they didn't listen to you when you said you didn't want all the bailouts; you didn't want the health care bill; you didn't want cap and trade; you didn't want them to continue to spend money we don't have!
If you want this "mess" to continue, then vote Democrat. If not, then vote for somebody else. They darn sure cannot hurt us much more than those currently in office. It appears, from most of the primaries, that the Tea Party is telling the incumbents that the "jig is up." We want to return to reasonable politics and live our lives as we see fit. Not at the whims of the idiots in Washington, D.C.
"It's not that liberals aren't smart, it's just that so much of what they know isn't so." -
“No federal government has damaged the American free market more than this one. No federal government has stolen more employment, more freedom, more private property -- from this and future generations -- than this one. No government has created more regulations, more unconstitutional dictates, more -- dare I say it -- slavery than this one.”
“If all goes well for Republicans in the midterm elections, they’ll capture the House and maybe the Senate, having revealed few specifics of what they might do in the next Congress. This makes sense. It’s the Chris Christie strategy.”
“I am forbidden to critique BHO and his boys on anything they say or do. Yes, if I do utter anything derogatory regarding his holiness it is immediately dismissed because of four primary reasons. Herewith are the raisons d’être of why I cannot decry señor Hussein.
Reason #1: I am white. How do I know I’m white? Well, aside from my skin color, one telling mark of my Caucasian-ness is that I have Hall & Oates on my iPod (I always set the treble up higher than the bass) and, of course, my Florence Henderson tattoo. If that ain’t white, I don’t know what is. Since I’m white I’m not allowed to disagree with Obama because that’d be hatred. It’s true. It’s science.
“What Republicans owe the American people is a hefty dose of plain-speaking, bold pragmatism that clearly articulates the GOP's vision for America. Even I, your humble Motown guitar slayer, remain steadfastly locked on the vision of our Founding Fathers and am prepared to ride to their rescue with the Ted Pledge. My crowbar of logic and truth does not gently weep.”
"Every now and then liberals like to claim that they’re patriotic. Usually around an election. Of course they’re not patriotic in the 'wear a flag on your lapel' kind of way. They’re more patriotic in the 'point out everything wrong with your country and then threaten to move to Canada if you don’t win the election' way. Which is fine. America has seen patriots like that before. They used to wear green coats and moved to Canada, right around the time the last British troops left New York on Evacuation Day."
“While Planned Parenthood continues to sit on its annual report for 2008-2009, new documents found hidden on its labyrinthine website give taxpayers an insider's look into the beleaguered abortion monopoly it is helping fund.
The shocking thing about these numbers is that they are finally dispelling the ubiquitous Planned Parenthood lie that the organization is about something other than abortion.”
“Anyone who says America is broken, dysfunctional and doomed hasn't been to a ballgame lately. The people who come out to such sporting events aren't just the superrich or the privileged few: They represent every economic and ethnic segment of the society. When 20,000 enthusiasts can still find the money to come out to cheer a last place team, it's inappropriate to peddle apocalyptic visions of a nation made up primarily of the destitute and desperate.”
Can anyone explain why in the world does the United States continue to play host to a group of thugs otherwise known as the United Nations?
Let's say that you, as a host or hostess, invited guests into your home for social gatherings. All your guests did was complain about you - your beliefs - your decorating style - the food and drink you served - your lifestyle - would you continue to invite them back? No. After a period of time, their welcome would wear thin. Why bother trying to make friends with such people? Why waste your money, time, food, and drink on such rude and nasty guests?
Yet, for some misguided reason, the United States continues to play host in New York to other countries who offer us no support, yet sure don't hesitate to take our money and abuse our generosity. All the while condemning our country and what we stand for.
President Obama doesn't seem to mind. In fact, Obama and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton even submitted a "Universal Period Review" to the United Nations so-called "Human Rights Council." so they could evaluate "human rights abuses" in the United States! Arizona Governor Jan Brewer strongly condemned what Obama and Clinton did, writing that "the idea of our own American government submitting the duly enacted laws of a state of the United States to "review" by the United Nations is internationalism run amok and unconstitutional." Brewer was referring to the fact that the state of Arizona and it's recent illegal immigration laws (which mirror existing federal laws) were included in the Review.
The U.N. Human Rights Council consists of such distinguished countries as Saudi Arabia, China, Libya, Syria, Uganda, and Qatar - you know, countries truly dedicated to the rights of their own citizens - now sitting in judgment of the United States. At least President Bush, to his credit, refused a seat on such a council, Obama, on the other hand, was eager to join. Obama got his wish when the United States became a part of this charade in 2009.
As Eileen F. Toplansky writes in her "American Thinker" column ("America to be reviewed by thugs of U.N. Human Rights Council, 8/30/10): "Because of Obama's decision to have America join the Council, American taxpayers are now financially supporting anti-Israel, anti-American rhetoric and hatred "posted, translated, and broadcast around the world." That a single dollar is used to promote this disgusting agenda is deplorable; that the man who is supposed to represent the best interests of America should sanction it makes one wonder about his true allegiance."
At a recent United Nations General Assembly on September 23rd, President Obama made yet another limp-wristed speech designed to placate Iran. Obama spoke about how committed he is to diplomacy and negotiations with Iran - and that the "Iranian government must demonstrate a clear and credible commitment, and confirm to the world the peaceful intent of its nuclear program." Why Obama keeps trying to appease Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad is beyond comprehension. Dr. James Carafano (the Heritage Foundation's National Security Expert) puts forth his views on Obama's U.N. speech: "They (the Obama Administration) are literally at their wits end. They have no idea what to do. They don't want to take the Iranians on. They don't want to appear soft on Iran. They don't want to say that having an Iranian nuclear program is acceptable, but they're unwilling to do any of the things to demonstrate that the United States would hold it as unacceptable."
Former U.N. Ambassador John Bolton had these comments on Obama's stance: "So how can you seriously believe that you can negotiate a meaningful elimination of their (Iran's) nuclear weapons program with people with that kind of psychology and believe they would carry through with it. Obama can't explain. It's another demonstration that his policy of dealing with Iran and North Korea is that it's just not naive, but it's also dangerous. The fact it is almost certain - Iran is going to get nuclear weapons - really shows that diplomacy has failed, and the sanctions efforts have failed. Unless Obama or Israel is prepared to use military force against the Iranian nuclear weapons program, there is very little doubt that you are going to have Iran with nuclear weapons."
So a few hours after Obama, Iranian President Ahmadinejad appeared before the United Nations General Assembly. The Iranian leader went on a tear - first condemning capitalism by stating "after about 100 years of domination, the capitalism system and existing world order are unable to provide solutions to the problems that society faces." (Now, at this point, Obama - given his strong socialist views and attempts to destroy capitalism in our own country - probably would have given Ahmadinejad a shout-out - or at least a fist bump!) But, Ahmadinejad went on to say some very horrible things about America that even Barack Obama seemed to have a hard time swallowing. The Iranian leader declared that he believed the United States "orchestrated the (9/11) attack to reverse the declining American economy and its grip on the Middle East in order to save the Zionist regime." At this point, the U.S. delegation walked out, as did several other delegates from other countries. Unfortunately, the majority of delegates remained to listen to Ahmadinejad's tirade. Of the 192 members of the United Nations, less than 40 of the delegations from other nations walked out on Ahmadinejad. And many of those 150 to 160 delegates applauded when the Iranian president's rant ended.
Obama was not present when Ahmadinejad made his inflammatory comments. Sad to say, one really has to wonder if Obama would have joined the American delegation and left the room when Ahmadinejad was speaking. After all, when Nicaragua's Daniel Ortega was bashing America in a 50 minute speech during the Summit of the Americas in April, 2009, Obama sat there. Listening. Doing nothing. No outrage, no defense of his own country. During the Summit, Obama graciously shook socialist leader Hugo Chavez's hand and accepted a book from the Venezuelan president that bashes America (the book was: "Open Veins of Latin America: Five Centuries of the Pillage of a Continent," by Uruguayan journalist Eduardo Galeano, which blames foreign interests like the United States for exploiting Latin America for centuries.). So it is valid question as to whether or not Obama would have walked out on Ahmadinejad at the United Nations. After all, many American's believe that Obama - the President of the United States - shares Ahmadinejad's anti-capitalism, anti-American views.
Although, later Obama did offer a tepid response to Ahmadinejad's remarks, calling them "offensive" and "hateful." (Think Ahmadinejad is losing any sleep after hearing this response from the President of the United States?)
And yet, Obama still wants to put forth his "Obama Doctrine," meaning that we need to destroy our status as a world "super power." The Apologizer-In-Chief will continue to downplay our exceptionalism and strengths, in favor of criticizing what he perceives to be American's faults. The United States must be content in the future to be mediocre - and not act alone when it comes to dealing with threats or dangers from other countries and their leaders. We need to consult with the likes of the United Nations. In keeping in step with Obama's socialist philosophy of "share the wealth," now we also have "share the responsibility."
Under Obama, the United States should no longer be considered a "world leader," but a "world follower" - content to let other countries dictate our direction. By continuing to follow this "group hug" global feel-good mentality, Obama simply refuses to address the pressing and dangerous threats growing in Iran and North Korea. And he refused to address such issues with any force or substance while speaking at the U.N.
In conclusion, William Kristol, conservative political analyst and editor of "The Weekly Standard," had this to say regarding the United Nations:
"I think we need to rethink the whole issue of the U.N. I've never been a fan of the U.N., but I've also never been excessively alarmed about it. I just thought it was kind of pointless. But I now think we really should rethink the whole American relationship with the United Nations. It's a different era. It didn't even have that much rationale then (when the United Nations was formed). But look, it's one think if it's just useless and harmless. It's another thing if it actually becomes harmful. And I think you can make a case that it's actually become harmful."
Exactly. By the way, Mr. Kristol made his remarks in 2003.
“Shaming the White House press corps, a regular American named Velma Hart recently asked President Barack Obama the toughest question he has heard since being elected to the Oval Office.
“Simply put, candidates who propose job-creating policies and show how their opponent’s policies are killing jobs will win decisively in 2010……so let’s examine the top 10 job-killing policies of the Obama-Pelosi-Reid machine.”
“Let’s examine what the 111th Congress has accomplished so far. There was a $1 trillion stimulus bill that failed to jumpstart the economy. There was a $1 trillion health care overhaul that the public did not want. There was a financial bill that gave huge amounts of power to unelected regulators. And now, for their final trick, the Democrats who run Congress have decided to leave Washington without doing anything to prevent the largest tax increase in history. God only knows what they are planning for an encore.”
“Introduced by Rep. Tammy Baldwin (D-Wis.), H.R. 6109 requires HHS to obtain, retain and analyze sexual identity information from patients who seek healthcare, including children.”
“Everybody wants to make themselves feel better by throwing someone else's money at the problem, but what many people don't seem to notice is that it seldom improves the situation. Yes, it will cost money to fight poverty, but there's a smart way and a dumb way to do it. The dumb way to do it is our current system. Here's the smart way to do it.”
“Green evangelists believe that recycling our trash is ‘good for the planet' — that it conserves resources and is more environmentally friendly. But recycling household waste consumes resources, too.”
Thankfully Obama's lying non-response (full of lots of "ah's...but....ah.....huh...ah....") - wasn't included in this specific video clip or I'd have had to throw up. (Suffice it to say, Obama tries to tout the "accomplishments" he's made - like making more student loans available (how about jobs?), and credit card companies now have to tell us when they raise interest rates (wow!), and mortgage companies cannot steer people towards more expensive mortgages....and of course he has to mention the big government power grab - Obamacare, stating that no one can be refused health care (hey Mr. Obama - how about mentioning that people can be thrown in the slammer if they refuse to buy it?)). Obama concludes by saying "we're moving in the right direction." I don't think Obama's handlers had planned a teleprompter paragraph or two to address this woman's concerns. Instead we got the usual garbage - off the cuff. Obama actually sounded like Robert Gibbs with all the "um's" and "ahs". Pathetic.
This brave woman - bless her heart - asked a very good question! A question that is in the minds of the majority of Americans who find themselves in dire straits. Many of us who are working harder for less or not working at all. With no jobs out there. No economic recovery in sight. A government spending us into oblivion and financial ruin.
And look at what this arrogant man-child did while this lady was speaking - anyone notice the chuckle? This president is laughing - laughing at the situations that the "little people" find themselves in right now.
These situations are NOT getting better - due to this Administrations socialist policies and plans for the country. However, contrary to what some may think, in Obama's mind, he IS succeeding! Obama's goal IS to grow government and make the minions dependent upon it. Taking money from the producers to give to the non-producers. And we, like this woman in the YouTube clip - are realizing that the quality of our lives is going downhill. No matter how hard we may try to better ourselves - it won't matter. The government is getting bigger - encroaching more into our private lives. The government wants to make our decisions and options for us as they see fit.
After this woman explained how the financial recession was taking a toll on her family and that she was disappointed as to where we (as a country) are right now, she asked a very good question:
"Is this my new reality?"
The answer is a firm "YES." This is what Obama and his socialist base WANT for our country.
We can change this course, though, in November and 2012. Never forget that! Just a few weeks until we begin to alter the "new reality" of Obama's vision for America.
As a side note, I expect the media and liberals to try to destroy this woman - Velma R. Hart. Liberal bloggers are already calling her a "plant." Why, African-Americans - especially women - simply do NOT speak out against the President! The media really is in a dilemma because they cannot play the race card on this one - after all, the question wasn't asked by a white male!!! The journalists-in-name-only - the mainstream media - are probably rummaging through this woman's trash right now, looking for dirt. Interviewing friends, acquaintances, co-workers in an effort to slander her. The smear campaign will be in high gear - either that or the Barry O. Fan Club news media will choose to ignore this little clip. After all, how can a poignant question, asked of the President of the United States - which makes such valid and important points be considered newsworthy???)
"On the 60th anniversary of 9/11 memorial service, president of the United States of America, Hussein Ali, delivered an uplifting speech at the Cordoba House mosque at ground zero in lower Manhattan. New York City mayor Mohammed Ahmed Abdullah as well as many other dignitaries and a crowd numbering in the tens of thousands filling the surrounding streets with their prayer rugs, also joined to commemorate the 60 year old tragedy.
"Barack Obama is the most antibusiness president in a generation, perhaps in American history. Thanks to him the era of big government is back. Obama runs up taxpayer debt not in the billions but in the trillions. He has expanded the federal government's control over home mortgages, investment banking, health care, autos and energy. The Weekly Standard summarizes Obama's approach as omnipotence at home, impotence abroad."
“’Sometimes when she went out in public, people were unkind. Once, while shopping at Target, a man saw Palin and hollered, 'Oh my God! It's Tina Fey! I love Tina Fey!' When other shoppers started laughing, the governor parked her cart, walked out of the store, and drove away.' (That jackass was lucky Sarah didn't have her moose rifle with her.)
A random encounter with a rude, abusive jerk in public is supposed to make her look bad? Liberals have really lost their minds about Palin. They'd laugh if someone hit her with a baseball bat.”
"The Tea Party movement is broad-based with wide support. Over half of the electorate now say they favor the Tea Party movement, around 35 percent say they support the movement, 20 to 25 percent self-identify as members of the movement, and 2 to 7 percent say they are activists.
The data is particularly clear, and some polls have shown that the Tea Party movement is the most popular force in American politics ... and is increasingly been recognized as such by a media that was, at the very least, late to the party"
"Before everyone succumbs to election season delirium, it’s worth taking a moment to remember that no matter how peeved the American population fancies itself, no matter how dramatic a change of partisan control in one or both houses might seem, one thing is certain: The vast majority of the current Congress can count on returning to Washington and business as usual."
"While it’s fashionable in some precincts to smear America as a nation of Islamophobes whose bigotry plays into the hands of extremists, the reverse is closer to the truth."
"U.S. Education Secretary Arne Duncan recently claimed: 'Districts around the country have literally been cutting for five, six, seven years in a row. And, many of them, you know, are through, you know, fat, through flesh and into bone ... .'
Really? They cut spending five to seven consecutive years?
Give me a break!
Andrew Coulson, director of the Cato Institute's Center for Educational Freedom, writes that out of 14,000 school districts in the United States, just seven have cut their budgets seven years in a row. How about five years in a row? Just 87. That's a fraction of 1 percent in each case."
"Because our so-called news media is focused on telling us what they think we want to hear instead of what we need to hear, we are deluged with celebrity sludge stories. Americans know Lindsay Lohan spent time in jail, that Paris Hilton was recently busted for possessing cocaine, and that Mel Gibson left some angry messages on his former girlfriend's phone. If these stories were food they would be junk food."
The elections on September 14th, 2010 demonstrated that people are tired of politics as usual out of local, state, and federal government. In our state and around the nation, strong conservative candidates were elected in primaries. The upcoming elections in November and 2012 won't be about Republicans versus Democrats. The elections WILL be about conservative ideology versus liberal ideology.
A strong conservative wave is sweeping the country - and we really have to send a shout-out to President Obama on that one. Were John McCain elected president, we probably would have seen less growth in government and we wouldn't have had to contend with a monstrous socialized medicine entitlement bill. We would also be much safer, since McCain takes the war on terror seriously and would have been a strong supporter of national security. McCain may not have passed stimulus bills which only served to put our country further in debt and did nothing to help the economy or address unemployment. McCain would also have shown a respect and admiration for the country he was elected to represent. However, even with all the pro's McCain could have brought to the job - the Republican party and conservatives would have still been weak and languishing. RINO's - including McCain - would have been allowed to conduct business as usual. The tone in Washington, D.C. would have remained stagnant. Ho-hum. And come election time, the cycle would just continue. Whether Republicans or Democrats prevailed.
Enter Barack Hussein Obama. A man on a mission - a mission to convert our country to socialism. A man trying to make the masses more dependent upon the government. A man intent on growing government like never before AND spending us all into oblivion like never before. A man who ignores the threats to our national security, choosing to bow down to our enemies and diss our allies. A man who doesn't know how to lead. A man who arrogantly fails to respect or listen to the people he was chosen to represent. A man who promised "hope" and "change" - never admitting to the people what "hope" and "change" in Obama terminology really meant. After the public swallowed his lies and ignored the many red flags regarding his ideology, Obama was elected president. Once in office, he quickly shifted from the moderate candidate he pretended to be while campaigning to the socialist president we now have. And will continue to have for another year-plus.
Yet, even with all the damage Obama and his inner circle of like-minded socialists, czars, and rulers like Pelosi and Reid have done to America, Obama did do something right. He managed to wake up many people who were apathetic about politics. People who couldn't have cared less what was going on in our government. Who never paid attention to elected officials and what they were or were not doing. People saw what was going on - and they didn't like it. Obama was the catalyst that ignited the conservative movement.
Tea Parties sprung up all over - attracting people of all races, religions, ages, and political affiliations - (as well as the scorn and contempt of the left and media). What many fail to understand is that America has always been a moderate country - a more conservative country. Middle-of-the-road. What happened in the election of 2008 was an abrupt shift to the extreme left. Of course we have the "left coast" and the eastern elites, but they are far outnumbered by what is in-between: the midwest - north and south. The President and his socialist cronies forgot that - and fail to remember it even now. Besides, it really doesn't matter. Obama isn't in office to do the "will of the people." Obama is in office to inflict his will upon the people.
Come November and 2012, we CAN and will take our country back. The wave of conservative ideology is coming - look at what happened on September 14th. In our own state, a strong conservative candidate, who has shown he can cut budgets and limit government - Scott Walker - was elected as the Republican candidate for Governor. Walker's opponent - Tom Barrett - is just a nicer and more ethical clone of Governor Jim Doyle. Barrett is still just a tax-and-spend Democrat. The exact type of politician the country no longer wishes to embrace. Walkers chances to become the next Governor of Wisconsin are excellent. Throw in the fact that Walker is against Obamacare and has promised to derail light rail and return our state to practicing fiscal responsibility, Walker is the perfect candidate for the majority of Wisconsinites.
On the national front, right now the economy is THE issue on the minds of the majority of Americans. What Obama and his Administration are doing to destroy the economy needs to come to a halt. Growing government jobs, while doing nothing to aid the private sector is not the way to go. In fact, Obama, Pelosi, and Reid are generating all types of legislation that harm private and small businesses. After all, they are what Obama and Co. look at with disdain - private companies that make a profit! They wish to punish the successful to give the rewards of success to those who do nothing. Redistribution of wealth. People and private businesses in our country are uncertain and afraid of what the future holds - unsure of what Obama & Co. will do next. As Dick Morris and Eileen McGann point out in their book "2010 - Take Back America":
"If we hobble those who generate wealth, create jobs, and catalyze growth, we cannot help the many who depend on government handouts. If no one is creating wealth, there's nothing to tax. A vicious circle sets in: Taxes go up, revenue drops, productivity evaporates, and society falls down. This is what happened in the Soviet Union, and unless we take action it will happen here."
So a big congrats to all those true conservatives who won on September 14th or earlier primaries. The first step toward taking our country back.
- Delaware Republican candidate Christine O'Donnell (endorsed by Sarah Palin, no less!) - who ousted RINO Mike Castle.
- New Yorker Carl Paladino - backed by the Tea party who beat out Rick Lazio - for the Republican nod in the race for Governor.
- Marco Rubio who is running on a platform of smaller government - way ahead of Florida Governor Charlie Crist (who defected from the Republican party to run as an Independent) in the polls for the U.S. Senate seat in Florida.
- Tea party favorite Sharron Angle defeated Republican Sue Lowden and will go on to challenge Democrat and Senate leader Harry Reid in Nevada. Polling in that state shows the two tied right now.
- And look right here in Wisconsin - Republican Ron Johnson - a principled, true conservative - has come out of nowhere to actually be leading Democrat Russ Feingold right now by 7 percentage points in the polls for the U.S. senate seat race! Amazing!
There are of course, other Tea party favorites who have won in other areas that I have neglected to mention. Across the country, many established, long-term Democrat representatives are seeing Republican challengers leading in early polls right now. Suffice it to say, the tide is turning. The media and left are laughing at and criticizing those "new" conservatives rising up - saying they are not "experienced enough" to be elected. Well, in November and 2012, experience doesn't count nearly as much as character. Character consisting of a strong sense of right and wrong and doing what is best for America. Character which supports and appreciates the greatness of our nation. Character sadly lacking from the President on down - to the many Democrats who have been bobble-heads, nodding in agreement to anything Obama, Pelosi, and Reid wanted to do. And let's not forget the RINO's - just as reprehensible as the Dems, for falsely portraying themselves as Republicans. Elected to represent Republican values while doing exactly the opposite. Time for them to go. And that time is nearing.
November and 2012 will be the turning points in the history of our country. If the conservatives who get elected to serve in Washington, D.C. hold true to the values and beliefs they were elected to stand for, great things will happen to our nation. We can move away from the downward spiral that Obama has begun. We can return America to being the greatest nation on the face of the earth - with pride and strength. We can do away with Obamacare, begin to shrink government, strengthen national security, lower taxes, and bring back those private sector jobs. Remember when Jimmy Carter was president, and we heard over and over that America was a country in despair? It just couldn't get better. Well, Ronald Reagan sure proved the naysayers wrong, didn't he? Get the right people elected to office, and our country CAN return to the greatness, prosperity, and optimism we once enjoyed - and took for granted.
“The only person who has ever likened President Obama to a dog is President Obama, who once declared that he was a ‘mutt’ and a member of a ‘mongrel people.’
In reality, there's a reason nobody has compared Obama to a dog: dogs are likeable. They are friendly and loyal. They are man's best friend, as opposed to King Abdullah's best friend.”
“Various polls report that George W. Bush in some states is now better liked than President Obama. Even some liberal pundits call for Bush to weigh in on the Ground Zero mosque or the Arizona anti-immigration legislation.
Suddenly, Bush is missed. Why? Let me list 10 likely reasons.”
"Guess what could be coming to a paycheck near you?
Some of the largest tax increases in American history, by almost all objective analyses, unless Congress acts.
Federal tax hikes set to take effect in 2011 would hit virtually every working American, regardless of the level of household income.
Because of the protracted health care debate this past year, many citizens missed the words and actions - in some cases, inactions - of the Obama administration and Congress on taxes, so here's a summary of the changes scheduled to take place next year.”
“Many of us have been raised to think that words mean things. Then there's Democrats. From those infamous phrases like ‘It depends on what the definition of what 'is' is’ of yore to the newfangled ‘man-caused disasters’ of today, Democrats have so abused the English language as to make it completely unrecognizable to Mr. Johnson.
Here are a few words and phrases that liberals use all the time that are conundrums in as much as the words themselves actually say just the opposite of what liberals mean by them.”
“America’s voter rolls are a mess. But you can’t count on the Deparrtment of Social Justice and corruptocrat Attorney General Eric Holder to clean them up. It’s another job the feds won’t do. Time for ordinary citizens to step up to the plate. Thanks to a provision in federal law, you can pick up the slack.”
“The botched Oval Office rug becomes a precious symbol of the Obama presidency, based on an image fabricated out of symbols rather than substance and misappropriating valuable elements of America's history. The only question remaining is whether or not President Obama will choose to keep the rug in his office.”
“In an effort to pass a ridiculous regulation and then declare a victory in the drug war, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration is considering a rule that would require a physician’s prescription for your favorite off-the-shelf cough medicine.
“Beware the green police. They don't carry guns and there's no police academy to train them, but if you don't recycle your trash properly, they can walk up your driveway and give you a $100 ticket.
They know what's in your trash, they know what you eat, they know how often you bring your recycles to the curb -- and they may be coming to your town soon. That is, if they're not already there.”
Recently the city of Oconomowoc was nixed as a stop for the $810 million dollar "car speed" rail project. Seems the good folks of Oconomowoc turned out in droves when a meeting was held to discuss the possibility of a train station being built in their community. The Wisconsin Department of Transportation didn't like being bombarded with questions - mainly on the financing of the project and how taxpayers would be on the hook to pay for it - year after year - once the federal funding dried up. Many people are aware that high-speed rail is a guaranteed money-loser. Once up and running, the rail projects need subsidies to keep functioning, since ridership levels rarely meet projections. And studies have shown that high speed rail doesn't lose as much money in cities with large urban populations. Neither Milwaukee nor Madison (combined) even come close to the huge population levels found in cities such as New York, Minneapolis, or Chicago.
Well, in my opinion, the people in Oconomowoc won the battle. They prevented car-speed rail from making a stop in their town. They prevented any construction of a train station - a train station that would eventually become nothing more than a white elephant. A white elephant that would sit idle after a few novelty stops for a few novelty rides on a novelty train. In most cases of "novelty" items, the attraction wears off shortly after reality sets in.
So the DOT shifted it's sights to another location - Brookfield. Right now, the people of Brookfield are debating whether or not they want to play host to this boondoggle of a taxpayer nightmare. And it looks like Brookfield residents aren't too keen on the idea. So, if they say no to a train station - guess what? Hartland is up next.
In an effort to be pro-active, as a resident of Hartland, I contacted the Village Hall Administrator with the following e-mail:
"Dear Mr. Thiel: I am strongly opposed to a train station in Hartland. Our community does not need this, nor does the state of Wisconsin need a "car-speed" rail project. I hope that you and the Village Board will see fit to allow the citizens of Hartland to discuss this matter before agreeing to anything. Out of curiosity, I was wondering if you could tell me if you have heard from other community members - and if most are opposed or favor this plan. Also, who else should I contact directly to voice my opposition to this train station?"
Mr. Thiel responded quickly with the following reply:
"Greetings Mrs. Hemmer: Thank you for your comment regarding the train station. The feedback on the matter is being relayed to the Village Board which will ultimately have to decide on the matter. You may want to contact the trustees directly, and their contact information is on the village's website: www.villageofhartland.com . As far as other feedback, there has been both opposition and support expressed over the past several days. So far, just in numbers of responses, more expressions of opposition have been made than those in support, but some of each.
Thanks again for your interest, Sincerely, Wally Thiel - Village Administrator, Village of Hartland"
In writing this blog, I asked Mr. Thiel if I could reprint his response to my original e-mail. He agreed, as long as I made it clear that I note, per Mr. Thiel: "the raw numbers don't reflect the complexity of the responses. Even some of the folks who oppose the train, the station, or both indicate that learning more about the project is probably appropriate. I (Wally Thiel) point that out only to illustrate the variety and complexity in responses."
At this time I would like to give Mr. Thiel credit for being very cordial and responsive to my e-mails. However, judging from what he wrote, it appears as though he is leaning towards allowing a train station in our community if the DOT offers such. I wonder if he would have mentioned that "the raw numbers don't reflect the complexity of the responses" if most of the calls to his office ran in favor of the train stop.
Whatever.
So now I ask my readers to use their own common sense. High speed rail in our state is just a "want" -not a "need" - for a handful of Democratic politicians and liberals. A very expensive "want" I may add. A "want" that will keep on soaking taxpayers for years to come if it is allowed to become a reality. Hopefully after November, Wisconsin will have a new Governor - one who will listen to the will of the people and actually serve the public, rather than rule over them. A Governor who will "derail" the plans for high-speed rail and tell Mr. Obama "no thanks - we don't want this!"
Oconomowoc is out of the running. Wauwatosa said a loud "no" to a train station. Brookfield looks like it's residents don't want any part of this project. Closer to home, we need to start speaking out now. Listed below are the names and numbers of our Hartland representatives who would ultimately be responsible for deciding whether or not Hartland becomes a train stop for the "Diamond Jim Doyle Car-Speed Rail Line:"
Call the Village Board Members. Their names and phone numbers are listed below:
David Lamerand, President: (262) 367-7149
Richard Landwehr (262)367-6500
Karen Compton (262) 367-6287
Jack Wenstrom (262) 367-7132
Rick Stevens (262) 367-3876
Randy Swenson (262) 367-5671
Michael C. Meyers (262) 367-4151
Together, we CAN stop this exorbitant waste of taxpayer dollars - from the train stations themselves all the way up to the line between Madison and Milwaukee. And don't forget, even the $810 million dollars for the rail project itself IS taxpayer money to begin with!
“The venom-mill has been churning in regard to this event for weeks now, but it’s been in overdrive today, and Glenn Beck and those who turned out for the rally are being mocked. No real surprise there. Personally, I think anyone who can find anything to mock in the sentiment of restoring honor to our country and its leaders must be one sad sack of a person.”
“Democrats want Americans to believe that by letting tax rates rise they have discovered religion as deficit cutters. But after a two-year assault on the federal trough in which Congress passed the notoriously wasteful stimulus and added a new health care entitlement, few Americans are even bothering to listen. In reality, the harm this tax increase will inflict on jobs and gross domestic product will strongly outweigh any presumed boost in tax revenues.”
“What and where is the proof that Obama is such a sharp fellow? The recorded evidence is unavailable since his academic records, and test scores from three universities are sealed at his demand. Sure, he graduated from Harvard, But so did George Bush, who earned an MBA but is still pilloried by some as dumber than dirt. We shall have to examine Obama's performance and make our own assumptions based on observations.”
“When Obama declared himself African-American, and not mixed race or biracial as some had hoped, the African American community celebrated with jubilee. To us, Obama’s bold assertion meant that he identified with the African-American experience. It was proof that he’d accepted the chivalrous invitation of the African-American community and would soon glide into our open arms to meet our soft far embrace. So far, much to our dismay, he’s proven to be a bit of a playboy.”
“One month ago - without notice to Congress, without a word to the American people - the Department of Homeland Security began dismissing from U.S. immigration courts the cases of thousands of illegal aliens. The department says it will focus its efforts on removing criminal aliens. Aliens without serious criminal histories - 250,000 by some estimates - will be left alone. This policy closely follows last August's announcement by the department that it would not deport fugitive aliens - aliens who skipped court or disobeyed orders to leave the United States. These policies assure that more illegal immigration will follow - with illegals confident that the administration, which refuses to secure this nation's borders, will not remove those who enter and remain illegally.”
“Beginning in the 1960s, God was driven out of American public life because liberals said the Constitution demanded a separation of church and state.
Planned Parenthood was part of a campaign that convinced many Americans that killing unborn babies was really a defense of a woman's constitutional right to choose.
The ACLU sued to define 'free speech' to include vandalism, sacrilegious art, and spitting on returning veterans of the Vietnam War.
Even more depressing, the drive for equal rights for liberated slaves, begun by Republicans during and after the Civil War, morphed into a liberal affirmative action program which reintroduced privilege based on skin color.
“In his campaign for Congress, Wisconsin Republican Chad Lee bought cut-outs of Nancy Pelosi and other politicians he opposes from VictoryStore.com. Some of the signs have been stolen.”
The company that's accepted responsibility for a design flaw with a support column in the Marquette Interchange has been a contributor to the campaigns of both Governor Jim Doyle and Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett.
Doyle received more than $90,000 in campaign donations from the employees of HNTB; a company heavily involved in the design and construction of the rebuilt Marquette.
According to the Watchdog Wisconsin Democracy Campaign, even Brian Swenson, the HNTB executive who stood with Department of Transportation Secretary Frank Busalacchi during a news conference on Thursday, gave Governor Doyle $125 just last year.
HNTB employees have been active contributors this year too. They've already forked out at least $15,000 to Barrett's current campaign for governor.
Phil Walzak, a spokesperson for Barrett, doesn't believe there's any impropriety here, saying, "If there's an expectation that they're going to get something for a donation with Tom Barrett, that's just not the case."
Along with the majority of the general public in the United States, thousands of doctors are uniting to fight against Obamacare.
http://Docs4PatientCare.org is a website dedicated to providing information and support for those medical physicians and the public who disagree with this recent entitlement forced upon us - socialized medicine. Gpvernment-controlled health care is guaranteed to drive up health care costs and reduce the quality of care. Obamacare is bad for America.
Many doctors who are against socialized medicine are posting the following letter in their waiting rooms:
Section 1311 of the new health care legislation gives the US Secretary of Health and Human Services and her appointees the power to establish care guidelines that your doctor must abide by or face penalties and fines. In making doctors answerable in the federal bureaucracy this bill effectively makes them government employees and means that you and your doctor are no longer in charge of your health care decisions.
This new law politicizes medicine and in my opinion destroys the sanctity of the doctor-patient relationship that makes the American health care system the best in the world.
In addition to also badly exacerbating the current doctor shortage, the law will bring major cost increases, rising insurance premiums, higher taxes, a decline in new medical techniques, a fall-off in the development of miracle drugs as well as rationing by government panels and bureaucrats like passionate rationing advocate Donald Berwick forcing delays of months or sometimes years for hospitalization or surgery. Finally, studies show the legislation will adversely affect the elderly, the poor and rural residents.
Despite countless protests by doctors and overwhelming public opposition -- up to 60% of Americans opposed this bill -- the current party in control of Congress pushed this bill through with legal bribes and Chicago-style threats and is determined now to resist any “repeal and replace” efforts.
This doctor’s office is non-partisan -- always has been, always will be. But the fact is that every Republican voted against this bad bill while the Democratic Party leadership and the White House completely dismissed the will of the people in ruthlessly pushing through this legislation.
In the face of voter anger some Democratic candidates are now trying to make a cosmetic retreat, calling for minor modifications or pretending they are opposed to government-run medicine. Once the election is over, however, they will vote with their party bosses against repealing this bill. Please remember when you vote this November that unless the Democratic party receives a strong negative message about this power grab our health care system will never be fixed and the doctor patient relationship will be ruined forever.
I will be glad to discuss this with you at the end of our consultation.
Your Doctor

Please be sure to go to their website for more information. Especially interesting is their page "Prescription for Health Care reform" which offers practical and realistic solutions to honest health care reform. We don't need another entitlement program, nor the loss of more of our rights to big government. Come November and 2012, elect those opposed to this government power grab and and then we CAN begin to repeal Obamacare and promote real CHANGE. Change that benefits the people of the United States - not the government!
- The Vacationer-In-Chief, during yet another respite from Washington, D.C., couldn't be bothered to answer a few questions from his fan club (the press). While on a leisurely stroll in Martha's Vineyard, Obama responded "we're buying shrimp, guys, come on" when a reporter called out a question on Iraq. ("We're buying shrimp, guys, come on" sounds like it would make a great bumper sticker!) And remember, Barry and Michelle didn't buy any shrimp while on their 27 hour photo-op vacation to the Gulf Coast prior to quickly heading up at Martha's Vineyard for two weeks...
Perhaps if the press had asked about his golf score, it would have been a different story...
- The SS Badger wasn't too happy when the high-speed Lake Michigan Ferry was granted a government-backed loan guarantee from the Feds. Now, however, the SS Badger is requesting federal stimulus money (also known as "taxpayer dollars") to fund replacing it's coal burning engines with diesel engines. Here's the killer - the Environmental Protection Agency gave the SS Badger a 2012 deadline to convert it's engines to diesel. Why?
Seems the EPA wasn't too happy about the SS Badger dumping coal dust into Lake Michigan. Yes, coal dust. Anyone wonder why the Milwaukee Metropolitan Sewerage District (under the leadership of Mayor Tom Barrett) can continually dump millions of gallons of raw sewage and medical waste into Lake Michigan anytime it rains, but the SS Badger is a villain for dumping a bit of coal ash in the lake? Does this make ANY sense?
Oh, and the Lake Michigan Ferry is all upset because the SS Badger, if it gets those federal (taxpayer) stimulus dollars in the amount of $14 million, wouldn't have to pay the money back. The Lake Michigan Ferry, on the other hand, does indeed have to pay back it's loan from the feds. Funny how that works. The government sure must enjoy being able to toss out money freely and decide who needs to pay it back and who doesn't. Guess it's easy to do when the money isn't your own to begin with...
Yet another U.S. General is questioning Barack Obama's so-called "leadership" when it comes to waging war. Obama announced the United States would begin withdrawing U.S. troops from Afghanistan in the summer of 2011. Besides generating outrage from the Afghan Defense Ministry, another United States General (besides General Stanley McChrystal who stepped down a few months ago after making scathing remarks about his superiors - including Obama) has spoken up on the wisdom of such a "heads up" declaration.
From MSNBC: "U.S. Marine Corps General James Conway said on Tuesday that plan to start withdrawing American troops in July 2011 had likely energized the Taliban.
Conway claimed Obama’s timeline to begin withdrawal is"giving the enemy sustenance" by sending the message that all they have to do is wait for the Americans to leave to take over control of Afghanistan."
NBC News Correspondent Jim Miklaszewski seemed to think Obama is just posturing for political purposes. Mikalszewski had this to say: "Nobody in (the Pentagon), nobody in this administration, except perhaps (Vice President) Joe Biden, nobody thinks that July 2011 will be the start of a great exodus" from Afghanistan. The administration has been trying to appease the left of the Democratic Party, which largely supports a speedy exit from Afghanistan. The White House has been purposefully ambiguous … they wanted to have it both ways."
Face it. Obama doesn't know what to do with Iraq, Afghanistan, or Pakistan. (Or Iran, or North Korea, etc.)... And his "inner circle" of advisors continue to show how inept they are at waging a war. The war on terror has been pushed on the backburner ever since Obama took office. It's a mere nuisance, nothing more. The "overseas contingency operation." Fighting "infidel-challenged" individuals. All the while providing little support for our troops and tying their hands when it comes to combat situations due to ridiculous "rules of engagement." Why, this president has more important things to do - like plan that next vacation!
Obama, Biden, and the Obama Administration have all been touting that this summer - the summer of 2010 - is "the summer of recovery." All those stimulus jobs were supposed to come to fruition. The economic picture would be turning around.
- In August, 2010: First time claims for unemployment hit a nine-month high.
- The national unemployment rate remains at 9.5%
- 18.4% of Americans are out of work.
- Sales of existing homes dropped 27% from June to July
- The Consumer Confidence Index fell 50.4% in July
- The stock market is down 11% from it's peak in April.
If this is a "summer of recovery," wonder how one defines a "summer of failure..."
Senate Democrat Russ Feingold also appears to be running scared from Republican challenger Ron Johnson. Feingold has already started taking pot shots at Johnson. Seems Johnson doesn't believe in man-made global warming (as do many reputable scientists). Johnson has also come out and stated that he believes sun spots play a part in the earth's climate changes - which many scientists also agree with. Feingold has blasted Johnson's position - stating "I'm not going to be taking a science course from Mr. Johnson anytime soon." Oh, too funny, Russ! If this is the best Feingold can come up with, one has to believe his seat in the Senate is up for grabs and Feingold is panicking. A Rasmussen Poll in mid-July even had Johnson ahead of Feingold by one point. Good. It is high time the ultra-liberal, arrogant "maverick" be put out to pasture. And rather than taking a science course, perhaps good ole' Russ could take a course in Basic Economics - and have Barry O. and other Dems and RINO's join him...
From the Milwaukee Journal/Sentinel on Friday, August 27, 2010:
DOYLE BUDGET MANEUVER CALLED ILLEGAL
Is the Journal/Sentinel FINALLY waking up to the slimey budget shenanigans of Diamond Jim Doyle? The same Diamond Jim who saw fit to raid the transportation fund several times to cover glaring holes in the budget? The same Diamond Jim who would lie about even creating a fiscally-responsible budget? The same Diamond Jim that told us all "We should not, we must not, and I will not raise taxes?" The same Diamond Jim who is currently spending millions of dollars in an effort to make it extremely difficult to prevent car-speed rail from becoming a reality? So now, near the end of Doyle's rule, the Journal/Sentinel final wises up to what many of us have known all along...
The honest heading the Journal/Sentinel should have used:
Wow. A majority of voters in Louisiana (54%) feel that President Bush handled the Hurricane Katrina crisis better than Obama dealt with the Gulf oil spill (33%). The Milwaukee Journal/Sentinel actually did carry this story a few days ago, but it was on the back page of the main section. Wonder why they didn't consider it to be more important? However, it is amazing that this little story even found it's way into some newspapers...
Every day, I thank God I'm not an America, military hating Democrat. The Democrats wouldn't back our U.S. troops. Thanks to our soldiers for their winning efforts in Iraq.
“(Scott) Walker is running for governor hoping to galvanize what he calls a ‘Brown Bag Movement.’ He visits workplaces around the state during lunch hour and after a short speech takes questions from the workers who show up to hear him. Every seat has a brown paper lunch bag with a short saying. ‘I have to brown bag it so I can pay Wisconsin’s taxes’ or ‘I’d be eating out if government wasn’t gobbling up all of my money’ or ‘Wisconsin is Tax Hell!’
It’s cheesy, but, like the salary ad, it seems to be working. When I mentioned to a Washington-based political reporter that I was headed to Wisconsin to profile Walker, he said: ‘Oh, the Brown Bag guy’.”
"Who is this guy? It would be no surprise if he turned out to be a wealthy financier who had taken up budget policy as a retirement hobby (like Peter G. Peterson) or a professional forecaster whose views on consumer spending are bearish (like Gary Shilling). The surprise is that Ryan is an elected official. He's running for election to a seventh term in Congress, representing a district with a razor-thin Republican edge south of Milwaukee.
Mess with Social Security? Are voters ready for this? Maybe they are. Those trillion-dollar deficits can't go on much longer."
"If you vote for Tom Barrett because you think Scott Walker gleefully employs racists at the highest levels of his campaign, you're stupid, and shouldn't be voting. If you vote for Russ Feingold because you think Ron Johnson will make it even slightly harder for you to kill animals and people with barely regulated deadly weapons, you're stupid."
"Now we know why the country has become 'ungovernable,' last year's excuse for the Democrats' failure of governance: Who can possibly govern a nation of racist, nativist, homophobic Islamophobes?
Note what connects these issues. In every one, liberals have lost the argument in the court of public opinion. Majorities -- often lopsided majorities -- oppose President Obama's social-democratic agenda (e.g., the stimulus, Obamacare), support the Arizona law, oppose gay marriage and reject a mosque near Ground Zero.
What's a liberal to do? Pull out the bigotry charge, the trump that preempts debate and gives no credit to the seriousness and substance of the contrary argument. The most venerable of these trumps is, of course, the race card."
"I hereby present—with full chromosomal immunity—a rundown of things women have been doing to totally screw themselves since winning the right to vote."
"The problem today is that the economy is not being left alone. Instead, it is haunted by uncertainty on a hundred fronts. When rules are unintelligible and unpredictable, when new workers are potential threats because of Labor Department regulations, businesses have little confidence to hire. President Obama's vaunted legislative record not only left entrepreneurs with the burden of bigger government, it also makes it impossible for them to accurately estimate the new burden.
In at least three big areas—health insurance, financial regulation, and taxes—no one can know what will happen."
"Few Californians in the private sector have $1 million in savings, but that's effectively the retirement account they guarantee to public employees who opt to retire at age 55 and are entitled to a monthly, inflation-protected check of $3,000 for the rest of their lives."
“The angry national debate over Imam Feisal Abdul Rauf's intention to build a mosque two blocks north of the horror of 9/11 at Ground Zero has been further fueled by supporter Nancy Pelosi declaring, ‘I join those who have called for looking into how ... this opposition to the mosque is being funded.’ If one of her sleuths knocks on my door, this opponent will readily state that I need no outside funding as a reporter who is deeply investigating the motivation of Imam Rauf's choice of this site of mass murder for the mosque."
"The hypocrites. Leftists say outrageous things on the radio routinely, things they truly mean, too, and those remarks never see the light of day on ABC, CBS and NBC. Talking about the N-word is wrong but wishing death on political enemies is OK when the rhetorical bombs are dropped on conservatives. The
Media has a new report chronicling who the real radio hatemongers are. Research Center
Here are, in my view, interesting, noteworthy columns and articles from the past week that I highly recommend:. How to lose a guy in 75 days
"Two years after his coattails helped sweep two dozen Democrats into office, President Obama is proving more a boon to Republicans than to Democrats during the midterm elections. His poll numbers are so morose that Democrats are planning ways to avoid his shadow, while Republicans plot strategies aimed at tying Obama to every incumbent member of Congress they can."
"President Obama couldn’t bring himself to observe the National Day of Prayer or spend time with the Boy Scouts of America, but God forbid, he couldn’t miss the Muslim Iftar Ramadan dinner, or pass up a chance to praise an Islamic center a stone’s throw away from Ground Zero.
He later backed down -- a bit.
One has to wonder exactly who is this Barack Obama? Is he the Muslim-educated student who has repeatedly proclaimed his Christian beliefs while finding himself unable to put a foot in a Christian church in Washington he can call his own, or is he an adult still motivated by the Muslim faith he learned and practiced as a young man?"
"A local project that President Barack Obama cited during a visit Wednesday to Columbus as an example of how the federal stimulus package has worked isn't actually being funded with stimulus dollars."
"While there are reasons to be encouraged by the administration’s Afghanistan offensive, many serious observers of America’s war with militant Islam see reasons for alarm. A case in point -- the Fort Hood Massacre. It was shocking enough to learn that the American domestic military establishment cannot even protect its own troops inside the United States. But what seemed even more shocking was the fact that the country’s most senior Army officer, Gen. George Casey, publicly stated that the attack caused him to be more worried about harm to the military’s diversity than the disgrace that failed to prevent such an appalling waste of lives. Many fear our superpower status is rapidly ebbing away and, shockingly, at the behest of our own government."
"Some states that participated in the Obama administration's plans for building high-speed-rail networks are now balking at those projects, halting or scaling back development because the federal government won't foot the entire bill.
The latest round of federal funding for high-speed rail carries a requirement that states chip in 20% of a project's costs. States say that is forcing them to choose between putting money toward what they see as more pressing short-term needs and devoting funds to projects that could take years to complete."
"Gone are the days when parents could protect their children from raunchy music by checking CDs for Tipper Gore-inspired advisories. Much of the music’s not just raunchy anymore--it’s explicitly sexual. And it’s only a download away from limitless play on your child’s iPod"
Recently President Obama was in town for a fundraiser to help Democrat Tom Barrett in his quest to become the next Governor. While here, Obama and his entourage planned a visit to a local business - ZBB Energy Corporation in Menomonee Falls.
The Milwaukee Journal/Sentinel reported on Obama's stop at ZBB in their business section on August 17, 2010 with the headline: "ZBB welcomes the attention - Workers appreciate president's support of clean energy." The article went on to highlight remarks made by Obama touting his commitment to "clean energy" and support of companies like ZBB. Obama stated that ZBB is "pointing our country toward a brighter economic future." ZBB has been in business for over ten years and makes batteries and equipment to store energy from such things as wind turbines.
What both Mr. Obama and the Milwaukee Journal/Sentinel failed to mention is that ZZB Energy Corporation is a company in dire straits. Financially, it has been a money-loser for years. According to the Wall Street Journal("Uncle Sam, Venture Capitalist" - 8/17/2010): ZBB lost $4.9 million dollars in 2008. In 2009 the firm lost $5.5 million. And for the first nine months of this year, ZBB has lost $6.9 million dollars. All told, the company has a cumulative deficit of $44.1 million dollars. When the company went public with it's first stock offering, shares were priced at $6.00. Currently, ZBB stock has a value of 70 cents per share.
Aside from losing money, the company has had management difficulties. A former ZBB CEO was compensated twice - both as an employee and an independent contractor. The company also failed to withhold his taxes. It was also discovered that the company at one time had entered revenue from a contract in the wrong quarter. The company itself - in a building which is 72,000 square feet - is "currently producing at less than 10% of its expected capacity" - according to the Wall Street Journal.
So, ZBB Energy Corporation is a failing business - relying on the federal government for "stimulus funding" (to the tune of $1.3 million) to stay afloat - and a promise of $14 million more in tax credits if it increases production. Why wasn't this bit of information included in the Milwaukee Journal/Sentinel story? Why did Obama chose to tour a company that most of us would suggest should be bankrupt? Because, to Obama, ZBB Energy Corporation is a SUCCESS story! Yes, in Obama's world a business success story is a company that turns to the government. A company that produces an item that no one is buying and/or isn't making any profit for the company - especially if that item is "green!". A company that relies on the support of the federal government - for taxpayer dollars - in order to stay in business. Wow! This IS a liberal success story.
On the other hand, a "failure" to Obama and his followers has to be a private business that is successful - making a profit - without relying on the federal government. A private business that produces something people are buying - and makes money while doing so. That type of company, according to the President, is the real failure. The CEO's and others who make a living off of such a company are the evil ones. Obama's disdain for private companies is noticeable. Obama and his co-horts in Washington, D.C. continue to enact legislation and regulations aimed at hurting private businesses with little regard for the economy or the workers whose livelihoods depend upon those jobs.
Why didn't the Milwaukee Journal/Sentinel report on the poor financial situation of ZBB Energy Corp.? Because they didn't want to. They didn't think it was important for their readers to know such things. Because in the liberal world, all that matters are intentions - not the end results.
Not sure about you but I hear very few people suggesting the law should prevent them from building it.Most people are saying they should not build it.Using legitimate social pressure such as boycotts is not flushing the constitution down the toilet.
And don’t give me that Barack Hussein Obama is backing religious freedom.Do you really need someone to explain that to you?If you think, he is "backing religious freedom" than you need to pick a good location to sit and wait for The Great Pumpkin.Anyone who isn't totally blind can see the real motivation behind Obama's anti-American, pro-Muslim stand on every issue. He will not denounce Islamic terrorism because why, other than he agrees with it.
On September 11, 2001, over 3,000 Americans were taken from us by the evil acts of Islamic extremists bent on destroying our freedoms.Amid the thick smoke and choking ashes of that fateful day, the St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church was reduced to dust.
Since 1922, St. Nicholas Church had stood as a quiet sanctuary of prayer and reflection amidst the tumultuous and bustling crossroads of commerce. For [the past] nine years the Port Authority of New York/New Jersey has used bureaucratic obstacles and false promises to hinder the rebuilding of the St. Nicholas Church.
So why so many obstacles to rebuild something that was already there?
Perhaps the plans should include a synagogue and a church as well, make it a centre of peace between faiths.A Buddhist or Shinto shrine would not go amiss either.A kind of Worlds Fair of Faith, on a spot where evil tried to raise its head or maybe no single faith should be allowed there for the USA is a melting pot of all the world's people. If any institution is to exist on Ground Zero in New York then it must be of a Universal Nature.
Clearly, by backing the ground zero mosque, Obama is acknowledging and ratifying the actions of the Radical Muslims who declared war on us and murdered thousands of people at that site.History is full of accounts over thousands of years of invaders who built their sacred temples, churches and mosques on TOP of their victims' sacred ground. The ground zero mosque is not just insensitive, rather it is a spit in the face, a gloating self-satisfied expression of contempt and conquest by Radical Muslims. They plan to exterminate all of us non-believers.This is not at all about religious freedom of worship; it is about annihilation, subjugation, and tyranny.Obama is bowing to the enemy.Wake up Americans! This just like the Muslims did in Jerusalem. The Muslims built their Masjid Qubbat As-Sakhrah Mosque on top of the Jewish Temple Mount to say We Win, You Lose.. Same as NY.They would put their Mosque on the site of ground zero if we would let them.
Obama acknowledged 'sensitivities' regarding 'Ground Zero' - a pity he, and those planning to build an Islamic centre and Mosque so close, is rather ... insensitive?
Yes, religious freedom of worship must be protected; but religions have an equal duty of compassion, sensitivity, respect and not to offend humanity?Religions survive by consent of the people, not by the law.
The builders of this mosque turned down an offer from the Gov. of NY for free property at another location that would have saved them tens of millions of dollars. There is no other logical reason other than they want this mosque at Ground Zero.It is a Victory Mosque, and would be worthless to them is it where not at Ground Zero.
Placing the mosque there may not be illegal...but it is without taste or respect. There are so many other sites available to erect a place of worship. Why there? It is a Muslim tradition to build mosques at the site of their victories.Even the original mosque name “the Cordoba House” was to insight people, tell me it was not!!!
In case, you don’t know!Cordoba, Spain was a key city captured by Muslim conquerors who immortalized their victory over the Christian Spaniards by making the city's church into the world's third-largest mosque.
It's interesting that Obama picks the ground zero Mosque controversy to rigorously defend the constitution when he blatantly tramples on it at other times.
BTW, the headline was "Obama endorses Muslim mosque near Ground Zero" Sounds like the Presidential seal of approval to most Americans.
Yes, we have freedom of religion in America. Many of us also have the sense to not proceed with inflammatory actions, which the building of this Mosque at this site, would be.Those who have planned this Mosque project are purposely sticking their thumb in America's eye, and they should rethink that and reconsider their choice of location. If they proceed, they should not be surprised if there is some level of retribution. When someone jams their thumb in your eye, it's unrealistic to think that such an action will be accepted without striking back.Instead, this President says, let me hold America's head very tight and very still, so that you can jam your thumb in there, very hard, and very deep. Those wanting to build the Mosque on this site, are mocking America and using against us, the very principles that we stand for.And our President is helping them.It is clear to see that he has chosen sides, and he is not on America's side.
They have the right to build the mosque there yes, but is it right to build the mosque there? If a Christian organization wanted to build a place of worship, at the same spot, it would NEVER get approved and there would NEVER be as much as a hint of concern from the Oval Office (look back above on St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church). If a Christian group wanted to build a church on the site of the Washington monument and they were told no.Does that constitute a violation of the constitution?Of course not.
A church is not necessary for anyone to get close to God.Freedom of religion is an individual right to believe in God in your own way, but it does not give anyone the right to build a church wherever they want one.The right to develop land has nothing to do with religion.Developing land has to do with zoning and public safety issues.Since the location of the mosque would create public safety issues stemming from local and nationwide civil unrest, the current location for the mosque must be denied by not only local government, but by our federal government as well, less our government's constitutional obligation to insure domestic tranquility be violated.
Obama is not a hero by saying everyone has a right to their religion. No one said they could not practice their religion.....practice away within the US laws.....but respect other people and their rights, just as Muslims want to be respected.Since Muslims decided to have America as their country, then they can assimilate, practice their religion and not show how disrespectful and un-American they are.Obama was pandering for votes when he spoke to these people, he needs all the help he can get because he is losing ground with anyone who is American. We don't care the color of his skin, that’s why we elected him.I'm tired of all the racial slurs against white Americans because they want us to be bigots when in fact the accusers are by casting the blame.Obama is not our hero, he is our president, and someone who should stand up for everyone, not just his people, and the ones he panders to for votes.
Why did Obama have a religious dinner/celebration at the WH for Ramadan? If Christians/Jews etc went to a similar function at the WH the ACLU and the libs would let out a scream heard around the world.I think it is telling that Obama did not attend the ArlingtonCemetery ceremony, nor did he attend the Boy Scouts of America Jamboree 100 year celebration. But yet he made time to host a Ramadan dinner. With the ArlingtonCemetery ceremony, he opted to hangout with his Chicago buddies. With Boy Scouts of America Jamboree, he chose to appear on a women’s gossip TV show.
Freedom of Religion is a cornerstone to the foundation of America. This freedom is abused when religious belief is used to commit crimes. The Islamic religion has become a victim of such criminals. The sight of the 911 attack should be set aside as a memorial and excluded from the building of any religious building of any kind. The separation of Church and State is also a very important cornerstone of the foundation of America and the President should avoid becoming involved in any religious controversy.Does he need a place to "pray" when he is in New York?I just can't put my mind around someone who is suppose to work for the betterment of our country is dividing us and tearing us apart. The Islamic extremists are really no different than organized criminals and will use the building of a mosque at the sight to insight tension in the hopes of creating more chaos and violence.Keeping our cool and reacting strategically is the only hope we have of keeping these criminals from overwhelming the world with chaos through psycho-social manipulation."Let's Roll" with cool conviction and precision.
Sure seems weird to me.. that the atheist, agnostic Liberals are supporting this. Freedom of religion and property rights carries no importance to you when inconvenient, eh?
I don't understand why Liberals hate Christians, but support those who are outspoken in their hatred toward Jewish variants and treat women as second class.
Let’s get a few things straight. The land is being leased and this is not about religion. It is about sensitivity and common decency. How about opening it on 9/11/2011!Might as well, wait that is the planned opening date!
To the point, there are certain words you can't say (Dr. Laura), certain pictures you can't print (Mohammad), and certain flags you can't fly (Confederate, Nazi) - all in the name of sensitivity. To do so would violate no law, still we approach these decades old conflicts on eggshells. So why the salt on this most recent, and still bleeding, cut?So you can be tolerant? Inclusive?Broad-minded?
Islamic Terrorists draw their inspiration for Jihad (Holy War) from Islam. It would appear that Islam was the ideological starting place for the destruction of the World Trade centre; it therefore seems insulting & offensive to let Muslims go anywhere near the World Trade Centre site.
We need to remember that 9/11 was due to a very nasty side if Islam that is constantly being brushed under the carpet by politically correct responsibility dodgers.
To build a Mosque near ground zero would be a slap in the face of the victims and survivors of 911.It would be tantamount to building a statue to the terrorist fringe that attacked our nation on that fateful day.The terrorist themselves made that ground hallow by the carnage they left.To me and most other good Americans this is hallowed ground and should be treated as such.I am ashamed that an American president (that I did not vote for) would endorse such an idea.Hopefully we can right the wrong of electing him as president by making it a one and done affair.
I have an idea, not really my idea.Let’s build a gay strip club next door to the new mosque and see how much tolerance there really is with this group. Will the liberals be ok with that??
Will the Imam allow women and gays in the mosque? It will still be American soil correct?American laws or Sharia laws anyone?
So gays should be allowed to enter correct? Please help me out oh those on the left!!!!
Religious tolerance from Liberals let me remind you of public prayer or how the Liberals outraged over crucifixes at CatholicUniversity
The liberal campaign to eradicate Christianity is becoming surreal.A brouhaha has erupted at BostonCollege, the world's highest ranked Catholic university, over crucifixes in the classrooms.
Tolerance, should we have built a Japanese Shinto Shrine (temple/shrine) on FordIsland (site of the bombing of our battleships, for those of you who have forgotten the sacrifices of our grandfathers)? While we are at it... we should tear down the Arizona memorial and replace it with a Shinto Shrine.
I am sure the left, who hated the Vietnam War think it would be great if someone built a monument to Ho Chi Min and Vietnamese communism across the street from the Vietnam memorial.Could you legally do such a thing if there was land available?Yes.Should you do it?No, but the left would.
What happens when the Muslims are upset with cultural things?Should we ban alcohol and BBQ around the area?
Would Saudi Arabia allow a Cathedral to be built in Riyadh?Under no circumstances!I have no problem with this as long as Muslims have no problem with a Christian church opening in Mecca or Medina.
I don't question an American's RIGHT to vote democrat, I am just questioning the wisdom of doing it.
America is NOT with Obama! You do understand the country is not that liberal as you think, right!
The survey, released on Wednesday, showed nearly 70 percent of Americans opposed it, including 54 percent of Democrats, 82 percent of Republicans and 70 percent of independents.
CNN polls registered* voters on the Ground Zero mosque:
As you may know, a group of Muslims in the U.S. plan to build a mosque two blocks from the site in New York City where the WorldTradeCenter used to stand.Do you favor or oppose this plan?
The response:
Favor 29%
Oppose 68%
No opinion 3%
So, according to the Center for American Progress, two out of every three voters are un-American bigots.
I can only imagine that voters would be even more opposed to the U.S. government's funding of the Ground Zero Mosque imam's Middle East junket.
Update: 8/13/2010 (5:06 p.m.): In fact, CNN polled "1,009 adult Americans, including 935 registered voters."
The BEST part of this is that about 70 PERCENT OF AMERICA is against this victory mosque.HOWEVER, liberals blame it on the GOP.
SO................... Does that mean that 70 PERCENT of AMERICA is GOP???
ROFLMAO!!! Just blame Bush for it, you know you want to!
"The fallacy is that Al Qaeda attacked us.Islam did not attack us," Jerrold Nadler, a Democratic congressman whose district includes the "Ground Zero" site, said on "State of the Union."
"We were not attacked by all Muslims. And there were Muslims who were killed there."
While that maybe correct, the attacks were carried out in the name of Islam and of the 3,000 Americans killed there, 34 were Muslim!
Any politician that attempts to stake 'higher ground' by claiming religious tolerance is very shortsighted...and doomed to a short career. These are not-so-healed wounds regardless of the constitutionality of the matter.
As it is, it is election time and Obama will flip flop on this within the next two weeks, after he sees that more and more Americans are not with him and his big push to love Muslims,.There is this, and NASA, and his big speech during Ramadan. He was a Muslim and has a love for them because of his father who is one.
Follow the money!Libs, you seem to like watching for the right to misstep, but you are so blinded because the echo chambers are telling you to support Obama and this.
Why is the US Government, using Taxpayers money, paying for the Imam trip abroad?? Would they do this for other religions? What happened to the "separation of church and state"?Obama is continuing to turn his back on America. He spends more time on TV then Hugo Chavez. He is a soap opera.I for one am tired of seeing his face looking down his nose at Americans.
Where is the money coming from to build it???
When I have asked a few liberals, do you support the mosque, I just get lip service and that due to freedom of religion, you cannot stop it?They don’t answer the question, even when I ask them don’t give me the mumbo jumbo about laws and rules or some come to Jesus or Allah moment, remember if they can ban the pledge of allegiance in schools, then we can ban a mosque being built.Simple as that.
Better then that is one proud progressive that told me, what does it matter in Wisconsin it doesn’t matter to me or affect me!
Do YOU support it!Plain and simple!
Yeah, I am called a troll because I am not following the Daily Koz mind controlling plan and giving a descending viewpoint!
Hundreds of opponents turned out for a public hearing on the mosque in New York on Tuesday Two US TV networks have refused to air a controversial advert condemning plans to build a mosque near the site of the 9/11 terror attacks in New York.
The advert is funded by the National Republican Trust, a conservative group not affiliated to the Republican Party.
Entitled "Kill the Ground Zero Mosque", the video calls the proposed mosque a "monstrosity" that will invite further attacks on the US.
The advertisement has received over 100,000 page views on YouTube.
Neither CBS nor NBC, two of the major US television networks, will screen the advert. It is unclear what other networks will decide to do.
“Can it get any worse for President Obama? Undoubtedly yes. Here are 10 key reasons why the Obama presidency is in serious trouble, and why its prospects are unlikely to improve between now and the November mid-terms.”
“The stimulus bill has proven to be an extraordinary waste of borrowed money that has failed to create jobs, generate economic growth or do much of anything other than line the pockets of White House political allies. That and give $308 million in subsidies to BP before the Gulf oil spill disaster, and subsidize a study on what happens when monkeys snort coke.”
“Two years ago, when Barack Obama stormed to a 13-point victory over John McCain in Wisconsin (en route to a seven-point, 365 electoral vote win nationwide) few political observers would have singled out Wisconsin Democratic Senator Russ Feingold as one of the party's most vulnerable incumbents in 2010. That's the conclusion of an interesting new report…”
Don't violate memory of Ground Zero “When we speak of Ground Zero as hallowed ground, what we mean is that it belongs to those who suffered and died there — and that such ownership obliges us, the living, to preserve the dignity and memory of the place, never allowing it to be forgotten, trivialized or misappropriated.Yet, with just over eighty days until the November midterms, that's exactly where Feingold finds himself. “
So-called progressives recently gathered in Las Vegas for their annual NetRoots conference….Pro-abortion NARAL was there, naturally. But, what was conspicuous to me about their attendance were the buttons that they were giving away and the T-shirts that they were selling, emblazoned with ‘I heart pro-choice boys’ and ‘I heart pro-choice girls."’ Unironically. A vast supply of merchandise that encourages the disrespect of women and the killing of their unborn babies.”
“At the same time we were shifting, in the past 30 years, to the more personal economy of service, we were witnessing and took part in a revolution in manners. We tore them down as too fancy, or sexist, or ageist, or revealing of class biases. Just when we needed more than ever the formality and agreed-upon rules of manners to act as guard rails, we threw them aside. And now no one knows how to act anymore.
The result is that everyone is getting on everyone's nerves. We're all snapping the bins shut on each other's heads. Everyone wants to tell the boss to take this job and shove it. Everyone wants to take a good, hard, last look at the customer and take the chute.”.
“Young people today, compared to their older counterparts, are ‘less likely to believe that civility is possible, less ashamed about recent incivility, but more supportive of compromise and more optimistic about higher education’s role in promoting civility.’
This is not your place, it belongs to others. However pure your voice, better to let silence reign.”
President Obama recently gave his "thumbs up" for the proposed mosque at what he called "hallowed ground" - that is, Ground Zero. Where 9/11 occurred and 3,000 innocent people lost their lives to radical Islamic terrorists.
Nearly 70% of Americans do not agree with Mr. Obama. Then again, the majority of Americans were against Obamacare, and Obama went ahead with his Obama-I-Don't-Care plans for socialized medicine anyhow. The socialized medicine that the majority of us still continue to fight against.
Obama's stance is to be expected. He is a President with a huge chip on his shoulder when it comes to America and American values. His is quick to bash his own country - especially in the presence of foreign leaders. He is constantly apologizing for what he believes are the faults of the United States. His wife, Michelle, is of the same mindset. Never proud of her country until Barry ran for office. The Obama's are quick to diss the United States, but sure appear to love the perks and benefits that the Presidential Office has to offer. Vacation after vacation. Expensive and lavish parties every Wednesday night. Obama has played more golf in two years than George Bush did in eight. Obama and his wife go on date nights to New York at the expense of the taxpayers. Michelle's recent trip to Spain ran up a taxpayer bill in the hundreds of thousands of dollars. While Mr. Obama tells us all to make sacrifices in this dire economy. And now this. Obama just couldn't help himself and had to chime in.
Yet, for Obama to support a monument to the biggest radical Islamist terrorist attack should come as no surprise. And that is EXACTLY what this is. The Muslims - led by an Imam with expressed contempt for the United States and western values - are giving us all a slap in the face.
Not all Americans, bless their souls, are taking this lightly.
Recently, the American Freedom Defense Initiative launched an advertising campaign with ads depicting 9/11 to be used as bus advertisements. Initially, the Metropolitan Transportation Authority refused to allow the ad. The American Freedom Defense Initiative sued - and won.
The ad looks like this:
While Obama made his comments in support of the mosque during a White House State Dinner celebrating the Islamic holy month of Ramaden - to an audience of Muslims, one has to wonder if his audience had been the families of those who lost loved ones during 9/11. Would he have been so eager to support a mosque in the presence of those who had family and friends murdered on that horrible day?
No one is saying that Muslims should be denied the opportunity to build a mosque. But many ARE saying that the Muslims in this case need to be sensitive and tolerant of those who consider 9/11 a sacred war memorial. A site to honor those who were killed - 3,000 innocent people at work. Killed because they were supposedly representative of the Western values that radical Muslims will not tolerate. It would be very easy - and compassionate - for the Muslims to build their mosque away from the 9/11 site.
Representative Peter King (R-NY) had this to say: "President Obama is wrong. It is insensitive and uncaring for the Muslim community to build a mosque in the shadow of ground zero. While the Muslim community has the right to build a mosque they are abusing that right by needlessly offending so many people who have suffered so much."
In closing, here is another "advertisement" showing what some Americans think of radical Islam. This one is much more to the point. Of course, not all Muslims are terrorists. But most terrorists ARE Muslims. Think about it. We may be our own worst enemy by allowing such a mosque to be built so close to the site of 9/11:
How many vacations is this for the Obama family the past two months or so? 4, 6, 10?
Fellow American taxpayer, how many vacations have you taken the past 90 days?
Yes, presidents and their families are entitled to vacations. The Obamas have gone overboard.
Can you imagine if a Republican president and his wife were jetsetting and partying with Hollywood types and rock stars and NBA superstars while America was jobless and starving?
It is incredibly uproarious to watch unfold. Democrats, who historically eat their own, with critical elections coming in the fall, are beating each other up.
Seems a fair number of liberal bloggers, you know, oh, let's just pick one to give you a clear picture...........
Yes, I'm talking about the ones who generally hide behind cowardly anonymous monikers and can’t argue their way through a wet paper bag and resort to sophomoric attacks generally laced with profanities….yeh, that’s the bunch…..have been moaning and groaning and whining and crying that the great Obamessiah, the almighty who was going to turn us into the USSR overnight has just been too slow in ramming socialism and uber-liberalism down our throats. It’s bad enough how he’s damaged the country. These ignoramuses want him to do more and they want it NOW!
Out behind the curtain, stepping up to the podium is the Commander- in -chief's #1 butt kisser, Robert Gibbs!!!
Obama's top spokesman angered the Rhoadesscholars by saying they need to be drug-tested.
Bravo, Mr. Gibbs! The first thing you got right since you took the job!
Again, does November sound or seem like anything important to the donkey party?
Fight!
Fight!
There’s a fight over here!
There goes Gibbs!
And there goes one knuckle-dragging liberal blogger after another!
This is an honest to God real hoot! Some yahoos propped behind their computers attacking, not right-wingers, but their own leader and the guy who speaks for their own leader!
And my goodness. Shouldn't Gibbs just be ignoring this sorry lot of nobodies?
What harmony!
What unity!
The warm and fuzzy party, hitting each other with bolo punches and brass knuckles!
Here’s what I’m talking about. For conservatives, this will mean a million laughs.
John Hawkins at Right Wing News (what candor, huh?) has compiled a list of numerous liberal bloggers and their angst over Robert Gibbs suggesting they’re high on dope. Here is just one example:
“Joe and I are upset with Obama, and we, for example, raised nearly $43,000 for the man, According to the White House, our money now doesn't count. Great, would they like to give it back? I for one, would love the $1000 back that I personally donated to the Obama campaign. Joe gave even more. I suspect a lot of our readers wouldn't mind their contributions back too, since apparently they're not appreciated.
Then there's all that work we did for the campaign, all the dirty work they asked us to do - and we did it, gladly, and quietly - none of that counted either, apparently.” John Aravosis, AmericaBlog
OMG!
That is…..

SUH-WEEEEEEEEEEEEETTT!
Liberal Democrats, especially the dimwit liberal bloggers, have taken their eyes OFF the prize.
Maybe they think the prize is a lost cause this year.

“Americans don’t support marriage out of a lack of respect and compassion for those who practice homosexual behavior. Accusations of bigotry and animus, made repeatedly by same-sex ‘marriage’ activists, are an assault on the dignity of millions of honorable Americans. By and large, marriage supporters recognize that all fellow citizens, regardless of their personal choices, can be loyal friends, dedicated community leaders, and beloved sons and daughters. But Americans have many good reasons to support marriage and refuse to surrender its future."
“The United States Attorneys' Annual Statistical Report for Fiscal Year 2009, compiled and released by President Barack Obama's Justice Department, is just more evidence that our government is not doing its job of defending our nation's border with Mexico. According to the Justice Department's own numbers, federal crime is dramatically disproportionate along that border compared to the rest of the United States.”
“In fact, it is not ‘bashing’ all Muslims if one points out that the comprehensive doctrine to which some of them adhere is a threat to our liberties, our government and our way of life. Objectively, that is the case; a global theocracy - the end-state commanded by Shariah - administering a severely repressive, even barbaric criminal code aimed at enforcing submission by Muslims and non-Muslims alike is incompatible with the U.S. Constitution.
As it happens, one man who has expressly said he seeks to ‘bring Shariah to America’ is Feisal Abdul Rauf, the imam currently promoting construction of a 13-story, $100 million mosque once dubbed ‘Cordoba House’ in proximity to Ground Zero.”
“He’ll be spending his birthday with his favorite person – himself.
Since Obama took office January last year, he’s talked endlessly about himself. At town halls, in speeches, during anniversaries and to the press, the message has always been the same: ‘I.’ Obama has spoken some form of “I” or “me” more than 16,000 official times since he took office.
"Losing her first baby was devastating enough but having to do it in a crowded waiting room is what angered Christine Handrahan the most.
The 29-year-old Peakes woman was nine weeks pregnant when on July 12 she started bleeding. Fearing the worst, Handrahan and her husband, Michael, headed to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital’s new emergency room.
There she waited more than three hours, blood seeping out of her jeans, tears rolling down her face as she feared she was losing her baby — or that she might be bleeding to death.
Still, she waited and waited.
More than three hours passed before Michael had enough.
"In 'Myths, Lies and Downright Stupidity,' I bet my readers $1,000 that they couldn't name one thing that government does better than the private sector.
“Arne Duncan is tabling a plan for parents to give ‘them’ (the government) more time with our tots. That means ‘alone time,’ as in big chunks of alone time with the teachers whom ‘they’ have fed a steady diet of‘America sucks and socialism is yummy’ sauce.
It’s the same stack of teachers the NEA has greatly encouraged to read Saul Alinsky’s commie rag, Rules for Radicals. And you won’t have to worry about them being physically harmed while they’re away from your gaze, Mr. and Mrs. Grizz, because radical gay activist Kevin ‘Fistgate’ Jennings will make sure your kids are okay. Especially your teenage boys.”
“Certainly, nobody wants to raise taxes to make up any portion of the deficit. In the past few budgets, the state has already jacked up all the politically ‘popular’ taxes – the only people who can afford a carton of cigarettes in Wisconsin are now Herb Kohl, Danny Gokey, and Prince Fielder. (Fielder, knowing he won’t be on the Brewers after next year, will likely play the season in slippers and a bathrobe, with a Lucky Strike hanging from his bottom lip.)
But in the absence of any serious attempt to balance the budget, here are a few revenue enhancers the state could adopt to start to fill in the structural hole.”
So many brave men and women have been awarded the Purple Heart. Meet one of them, John Kriesel.
